Cosmetic Surgeries
Post-Bariatric Surgery Aesthetics
With the help of weight loss surgeries such as sleeve gastrectomy, or excess weight loss with diet, the skin that has loosened in the body may not be recovered enough and sagging may occur in various areas.
These areas are generally the face, neck, breasts, arms, abdomen, hip, genital area and thighs. Rash, fungal infection may develop under these sagged skin, causing serious problems in wearing suitable clothes.
Sleeve gastrectomy, the most preferred bariatric surgery recently, is performed by the removal of a large portion of the stomach. The highly preference of this surgical intervention has led to cosmetic surgeries such as lifting.
It is necessary to wait at least 18 months after sleeve gastrectomy and to wait for the condition to be stabilized after weight loss.
Cosmetic Surgeries That Can Be Performed After Bariatric Surgery
- Face – Neck Area: Depending on the extent of sagging, conventional face lift and neck lift or mini face lift procedures are performed.
- Breasts: Sagged breasts are corrected by breast lift surgery. Since the fat content of the breasts is also reduced, while the sagged breast is intervened, the volume also needs to be supported with the breast prosthesis in the same session.
- Abdominal Area: It is corrected by abdominal lift surgery. Usually, abdominal lift and hip lift are performed together to correct the sagging hip and hipline as well.
- Arms: Sagged arms are corrected by arm lift surgery.
- Hip-Hipline: The hip loses volume, flattens and sags as a result of excess weight loss. In the case of sagged hip and hipline, the skin is pulled up all around like “pulling up the pants” and the excess parts are removed. During this procedure, it is possible to implant the portion removed from the hip in the inner part of the hip instead of discarding to make it look more voluminous.
- Thighs: Sagging in the inner parts of the thighs is evident and can be removed by thigh lift surgery.
- Genital area: Sagged skin in the genital area is corrected in accordance with the naturalness of this region.
These surgeries can be performed in 2 or 3 sessions according to the order of priority.
